My grandmother started to have symptoms of dementia around 2009. When I first saw my grandmother violently shouting what I could not understand, I did not know how to react it. I just smiled ambiguously and stayed away from her.
At that time my mother had to take care of her almost by herself, and was confused and upset for my grandmother not being her that my mother ever knew. In 2012, my grandmother joined a group home. Now she is taken care of there, and my mother goes to see her almost everyday just to spend about half an hour together. We are often amazed by my grandmother for saying or doing what we never expect. I take photos of us, or the days will just slip off from me.

This is how we are being family. And our days continue.
